* Warning! * A picture-heavy post! *lol*

I think of my self as a knitter, really - but now I find myself sitting with a crochet-hook day after day... Must be the heat... *LOL*

Anyways - two more shawls are finished!! I just L O V E it when things are easy and quick to make! =)

The first one is made of Kid Zeta Print from Madil Yarns - bought at Strikk innom! It is a delicate blend of kid mohair and silk - and the vibrant colours are absolutely beautiful! Too bad it`s raining outside...

Pattern: Love knot`s - (Felisi`s englemaskekurs)
Usage: Ca. 20 gr. Kid Zeta Print from Madil Yarns (75% kid mohair and 25% silk) on a 3,5mm crochet hook.
For my mother on her birthday.

The second one is also a shawl of Love knot`s - but the yarn is Superior from Filatura di Crosa - a lovely and delicate blend of cashmere and silk, bought at Det mjuke.

Pattern: Love knot`s - (Felisi`s englemaskekurs)
Usage: Ca. 17 gr. Superior from Filatura di Crosa (70% cashmere and 30% silk) on a 2mm crochet hook.
For my mother on her birthday.

And finally - two macros I captured after a little rainfall the other day. =)

A Pink Shawl of Love!

It`s very quiet here these days, I know - but I promise you I will be back! =)
I am working on two larger projects that are progressing very slowly... Partly because it`s so warm here, partly because my arms hurt of too much "heavy" knitting..., and partly because I need to finish some birthday-presents.
And here I present to you The Pink Shawl of Love! *lol*

Usage: Love knot`s/Solomons knot - ca. 20 gr Kid-Silk - needle 3,5mm.

The Tiny Tomten! =)

I have wanted to knit a Elizabeth Zimmerman-pattern for a long time - and now I have finally made it! =)

It`s a baby Tomten knitted in 2 colors - main color is a dark brown with details in a purply blue. I am very happy with how it turned out! Love the colours! =)

I knitted an I-cord ending around the body and hood. I have never used that technique before, but it turned out surprisingly well, I think! I had to frogg it the first time, because it looked better on the wrong side... So I started over from the wrong side, and now the right side looks great! =)

Pattern: Tomten by Elizabeth Zimmerman. I have used the pattern found in her book Knitting Without Tears.
Usage: Ca. 74 gr dark brown New Zealand lambswool and ca. 24 gr. blue New Zealand lambswool - 98 gr total.

Measures:
- body 25 cm across the chest
- body 30 cm long
- sleeves from pick-up 23 cm and from body 18 cm
- sleeves around sholders 22 cm and around wrist 15 cm

Size:
About 3 months to 1 year? I am not sure…
I casted on 128 stitches on 3mm needles.

This was a fun knit, and I will definetly try to knit more Tomtens.

Starting over...

I am knitting a cardigan/jacket in Angora-Tweed to myself - but I frogged the whole thing last night... I was not happy with shape so far (all the way up til under the arms...), so I have started over... I am sure it will work out like I want eventually! *lol*

It`s the first jacket I design, so I am prepared for some frogging... *lol*
Luckily the yarn seems to take the frogging well.

So - here`s some more macro`s for you! =)
They can all be seen in larger size by clicking on them.

I usually use my Tamron 90mm f/2.8 macro lens with Canon 30D camerabody for the macro-photos, but sometimes I use it with my Canon 400D aswell. I am very happy with both cameras and I absolutely L O V E the lens! =)

On my Wishlist I have Sigma 150mm f/2.8 macro. But the price is too much for me at the moment. But One Day, right? =)
Have a nice day!

Inspirational Cables! =)

Check out these cool books! *yey*
They both describe beautiful cables and knots to implement in knitted garments and blankets and bags and so on. And they both have patterns for a.o. jackets, sweaters and hats. I love them both! =)

Strikk i vikingmønster/Viking patterns for knitting by Elsebeth Lavold

Continous Cables by Melissa Leapman

It`s been a bit quiet on the knitting front here lately, but I am working on a jacket for myself - with cables, of course... =)

There`s a lot of tiny flowers in our garden these days - here`s a few for you. =)

Usage: about 110 grams thin alpaca, Drops on 3mm needles.

Pinhead! *lol*

Here we go again! I designed this simple hat for my dread-head-friend. I hope she can drag this down over the dreadlocks, to keep them dry and to keep her warm and cozy. =)

PS! The name is of course another songtitle of the Ramones! *lol*

Pattern: My design
Usage: Alpca With A twist Baby Twist - I used about 104 grams for this hat, on 4mm needles - and the yarn is lovely soft and squishy! =)
For Mari.

This is an extra long version of Jane Richmond`s hat Elizabeth. =)

Pattern: Elizabeth (- Ravelry-link).
Usage: ca. 145 grams DROPS Eskimo on 8mm needles.
For Mari.

I am sending a bunch of knitted stuff to her this week - I really hope she can use some of it... *lol*
